West Shore Country Club

The West Shore Country Club desired a new clubhouse that would keep the traditions and history that have symbolized this recreational facility over the decades. Designed around a courtyard that includes the original stone farmhouse, the new building respects the past while providing the efficiency and convenience of modern club planning.

A covered formal entrance leads to a glass-enclosed gallery that is flanked by the club’s gathering and dining spaces and looks out onto a manicured lawn and spacious terraces. A separate entrance leads to a pre-function area and a semi-circular ballroom that surrounds a “courtyard” atrium dance floor. An arched arcade leads to an informal lower lobby with direct access to the pro shop, card rooms and golf facilities, while a grand stair and elevator connect the lower lobby directly with the club dining rooms. Generous windows and an internal, centralized kitchen allow 360-degree views of the club grounds as well as beautiful views of the clubhouse from anywhere on the site.

The end result is a design that embraces the original building and the history it evokes while creating a functional and compelling facility for generations to come.
