Campus Master Plan
- Size: 6 Acres
- Estimated Cost: $3,500,000
In analyzing the Messiah College Campus, we recommended a wholesale set of changes grounded in the expanded mission of the college, changes in technology, and the need to compete with other institutions for quality students. The recommended changes focused on the “Old Main” building.
Internally, Old Main housed numerous functions over the years, including a dormitory space, faculty offices, and classroom space. A new admissions office adjacent to the central campus in the vicinity of Old Main was necessary. A building in this location helps to further define the campus center and works with the Eisenhower building to frame views of the new Great Hall. It provides a frontal facade that creates a true “front door” to the campus. It is the quality, quantity, and proximity of these spaces that needed improvement, as well as the philosophical way in which these areas functioned that required change.
This project galvanizes the exciting growth and transformation of the college by providing a central core that serves all participants in the Messiah experience.
